ABOUT MISERY PRIZE
Misery Prize is an electro-punk trio delivering top quality "Northern Chuntercore" to anybody that will listen. The band have played live across Yorkshire for a year, blowing audiences away with a set-up and delivery that defies logic.
With utterly filthy bass and rasping vocals from one side, darkly humourous lyrics delivered through spoken word by a deranged white-bearded street preacher on the other, and mega-bell-driven percussion to die for by a semi naked drummer in the middle, Misery Prize is a band that needs to be seen to be believed.
Misery Prize is:
Ryan Bracha (AKA Buttons) - writer, lead vocals
Andy Ramsbottom (AKA Pads) - composer, producer, backing and chorus vocals
Jesse Davies (AKA GigaJud) - Drums

LIVE PERFORMANCES
Taken from the band's debut appearance at the popular Barnsley Live festival on June 8th 2024, where they played the Ché Bar venue to around 200 people, this is a rollercoaster of a foul-mouthed tirade against the privilege of inherited obscene wealth that demonstrates perfectly the wit and social position of Misery Prize. This track also features on Saints of Obscene.
A recording of popular live tune The Alligator - it's a track about the rise of GB News enabled dog whistling cunts like Dan Wootton, plus similar arseholes like Piers Morgan, Katie Hopkins and that Russy Wussy Brand balloon. It's a little more subtle than they are though. At least lyrically. Recorded at Northern Guitars, a proper nice little venue.
The first ever recording of the tune that closes a Misery Prize show at the minute. This was taken from the band's debut headline gig at The Washington in Sheffield. It was also their Sheffield debut. The Washington is a mega venue and all music fans should hear a gig there once. Toxic is about pricks like Andrew Tate and their cult-like hold over certain men.
Another track from the Barnsley Live appearance, the band's most popular track to date - Twitzerland. This is a track about the divisive nature of Twitter and the various factions that do battle there.
MUSIC VIDEOS
The official video for No, I don't want the bill
This was the first track to be recorded and released that featured all three of the band's members, as the first album was completed before Jesse Davies joined the band. It marks a strong change in sound for the band, switching out acoustic guitars and chilled out vocal delivery for big synth and aggressive deranged street preacher vocals from Bracha.
The video was recorded in the band's rehearsal space, and edited by Ryan Bracha.
Written by Ryan Bracha, Andy Ramsbottom and Jesse Davies

This is the lyric video for the track Twitzerland.
This track focuses on the divisive nature of social media, giving many different factions a voice, which they seemingly use only to argue and stir up hatred amongst one another.
The track was picked up and played on the BBC Introducing show of Jericho Keys, who noted that Misery Prize are a band who enjoy having a bit between their teeth.
